Eating and Drinking
Bacton has a great fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway “Seastar”. Pubs within walking distance serving pub food – Poacher’s Pocket and Lighthouse Inn.
A traditional ice cream van visits and drives around the site in the summer! You don’t even have to leave the chalet to get your fix….
We have two fabulous dog friendly cafes in the village, Sugar and Spice is a gem of a place, always busy, wonderful breakfasts/cakes and lunches – a definite must and Cafe Carmel, a small, friendly vegetarian cafe is lovely. A short walk along the beach takes you to the Kingfisher cafe and fish and chip shop at Walcott, both are very popular.
One of our favourite, cosy winter haunts is the Vernon Arms at Southrepps – a long walk, cycle or easy drive. Great beer and food. Grab pole position on the sofa in front of the roaring fire in winter!
Foodies will enjoy the fabulous Gunton Arms or The Ingham Swan – both recommended venues for a special meal. Our Norfolk own celebrity chef, Galton Blackiston, has his own fish and chip and a la carte fish restaurant in Cromer whilst Galton’s Michelin starred Morston Hall is wonderful for a special occasion or an afternoon tea.
Rocky Bottoms (fresh lobster and seafood) and Wiveton Hall cafe – great breakfasts and lunch – are well worth the drive round the coast.
